Central Spirit “Beat” Decals

A tradition that has been around almost as long as college athletics, beat buttons are a way for a school to rally around their athletic team as they face a new opponent each game. This tradition is still carried on at Clemson, but instead of metal buttons we now use vinyl decals. The tradition began with passing out these decals on Fridays before home football games with the intention of getting the student body excited about the upcoming game. Since then our tradition has expanded to promoting more athletic events across campus and supporting our fellow Tigers at Men’s and Women’s basketball as well as Baseball.”

Campus Banner + Design has been the producer of the “Beat” stickers since 2014. Our interns print these stickers on one of our two in-house Roland printers. Using the Roland, we are able to print, as well as die-cut, the stickers making production easy and efficient. Once the stickers have been printed and die-cut, we then hand cut the sheet down into individual stickers so that they may distributed before the game.

These stickers have been, and continue to be, an important tradition of Clemson’s Central Spirit.  Not only do they create a solidarity between Clemson fans young and old, but they also allow for another outlet to advertise the games in the hopes of getting more fans to attend. This long-standing tradition has no end in sight, and, hopefully, we may add more sports to the list of athletic events we produce “Beat” decals for in the future.
